# Publish a landing page made with ChatGPT on your own domain

> **Short answer:** a workspace admin adds Sitehold as an app in ChatGPT's developer mode. You then ask ChatGPT to publish the page with Sitehold, and it puts it live. The page goes live on your domain with HTTPS.

## Check your plan first

Sitehold needs ChatGPT's full MCP support, because ChatGPT has to upload and publish, not only read. OpenAI offers that in developer mode on **ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu**. Plans or modes that allow only read or fetch actions cannot upload or publish with Sitehold.

## 1. The admin adds Sitehold

1. A workspace admin or owner turns on **developer mode** for themselves.
2. In ChatGPT on the web, the admin creates an app with the URL `https://accounts.sitehold.app/mcp` and OAuth sign-in, and publishes it to the workspace.

## 2. Connect and sign in

Each member connects the app and signs in to Sitehold; there is nothing to fill in. Sitehold is in a private beta by invitation and opens to everyone soon.

## 3. Ask ChatGPT to publish

```
Put this landing page on Sitehold as a new site called "Spring sale" and send me the preview link.
```

ChatGPT uploads the files as a version with a preview link. Ask for changes in the same chat until it looks right.

## 4. Go live

The first time, connect your domain before publishing: [Connect your domain](/guides/connect-a-domain). Then tell ChatGPT to publish, and the page is live. Want to sign off on each publish yourself? See [Approve publishes yourself](/guides/approval).

## Common questions

### ChatGPT says it can't upload. Why?

Your plan or mode only allows read actions. Check that developer mode is on and that the workspace is on Business, Enterprise or Edu.
