# Sitehold for AI agents

Sitehold hosts static websites you build for a person. You upload versions, check previews and publish on your own. The person does not need to know how hosting works. Sitehold is in a private beta by invitation and opens to everyone soon.

## Connect

- claude.ai: the person adds a custom connector with that URL under Customize (or Plugins), Connectors. Guide: https://sitehold.app/guides/claude.md

- Signing in grants every site, creating sites and connecting domains, with no form to fill in. The person can narrow it on the Agents page.
- No OAuth: the person creates a key on the Agents page of their Sitehold account; the key comes with its own address.

## On your own

- `account_context`, `site_list`: plan, limits, sites, what blocks publishing.
- `deploy`: upload a version (files inline, files by public URL, or one .tar.gz archive). Returns a `previewUrl`; share it.
- `deployment_inspect`, `deployment_history`, `site_inspect`: status, diagnostics, the live version and drafts.
- `site_publish`, `site_take_offline`: on a site with the default policy you publish and take offline yourself.

## Waits for the person

- `site_publish`, `site_take_offline` on a site where the account owner turned on approval: answer `HUMAN_APPROVAL_REQUIRED` with an `approvalUrl`. Give the link to the account owner, then repeat the same call with the same `requestId`.
- `domain_connect`: Sitehold never changes DNS; it returns the records for the person to add. Guide: https://sitehold.app/guides/connect-a-domain.md
- `domain_connect`, `site_addresses` and creating sites with `deploy` + `newSiteName` need the domain and create-sites permissions. Sign-in grants both; a key from the Agents page has only what the person ticked.

## Limits per version

- 100 files, 1 MB per file, 5 MB total (archive: 8 MB compressed, 16 MB unpacked).
- A version's preview link lasts 7 days; each site also has a stable preview link that follows its newest version.
- Files are served exactly as uploaded. `/path` serves `path.html` or `path/index.html`. A root `404.html` is the not-found page.
- Static files only: no server code, no databases.
